Eighteen months into in the GITA project, Project Lead Professor Neil Towers and Project Manager Nadine Sulkowski travelled across Java to visit each of the seven Indonesian Consortium partners and to report on the progress each institution has made to date in implementing the vision of the GITA project. In addition to visiting the newly operating Growth Hubs, they spoke to student entrepreneurs showcasing their products or services and collected data for an impact study on the embedding of an entrepreneurial mind-set across different levels within the participating universities, for which they interviewed senior and departmental university managers, as well as programme and course level academics. They also had the opportunity of observing coaching sessions delivered to students by local Growth Hub staff and delivered one-to-one consulting sessions to start-up entrepreneurs.

Even though it has only been running for 18 months, the GITA project is already demonstrating significant impact with the seven Consortium partners having developed strategies for embedding entrepreneurship education into curricula across various disciplines and working towards the future operation of University of Gloucestershire inspired Growth Hubs and the University in Business model. Speaking to senior managers in each university gave testimony to the top-level commitment within each institution to embedding the Triangular Approach in an endeavour to support entrepreneurial capacity building within different localities. Halfway through the project timeline, GITA is therefore already changing both organisational structures and entrepreneurial landscapes within Indonesia.
