Terms of Reference

The Steering Group brings together senior representatives from all consortium partners. Jointly, Steering Group Members are responsible for:

  • Project oversight and strategic decisions that affect delivery
  • Approval of KPI specifications
  • Assessment of progress against targets, and achievement of objectives and outputs
  • Approval of products according to established KPIs
  • Initiation and monitoring of corrective actions as required

Meetings take place quarterly or as required.

GITA Steering Group Members

Neil Towers, University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, UK

Professor Neil Towers is leading the “Growing Indonesia – a Triangular Approach” project. Neil is an internationally recognised expert in agile digital retail marketing, fashion supply chain management and small business growth whose expertise is often sought by board level senior management across various sectors.  As Lead for Research in the University of Gloucestershire Business School, he has secured and lead funded projects worth €3m+ in the last four years. With over 35 years of academic and business experience in small and large organisations his internationally rated expertise underpins high quality applied research and scholarly activity that impacts both business performance and higher education knowledge creation. Since 2009 he has been Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Retail Marketing and Distribution and has wide experience of lead roles in research leadership. Neil is a member of the Technical Authority Committee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, former Senior Examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and past Chair of the Qualifications and Awards Committee of the Institute of Operations Management (now Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, CILT). Volker Wittberg, Fachhochschule des Mittelstands, Bielefeld, Germany

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Volker Wittberg is Vice-President for Research and Development at University of Applied Sciences-Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) Germany. For almost 20 years he has been Professor for SME Management and focuses on Global SMEs, Sustainability and regulatory cost assessment. Beside this he has been external Professor at two British Universes. Prior to his academic life he has been management consultant in the industrial SME sector. John Jameson, Technical University Dublin , Dublin, Ireland

John Jameson is the Head of School of Retail Services Management, Director of Engagement in the College of Business at TUD, and Director of the Arthur Ryan Retail Centre. Through the Arthur Ryan Retail Centre, John leads a range of industry engagement and outreach activities. European projects that John has been involved in include EUREMA and the European Competence Center for Vocational Training. He has also participated in BioInno, a Knowledge Alliance project facilitating intersectoral mobility between Industry and Academia that included courses in entrepreneurship specifically designed for under and postgraduate students as part of their degree programmes, internships designed to better benefit both entrepreneurship students and SMEs. John was part of the team that introduced and establishment the PLATO SME enterprise network into Ireland. Plato is a highly successful business development programme now established in twelve countries in Europe. To date, over 10,000 SMEs have participated. Alexander Knapp, University of Innsbruck (UIBK), Innsbruck, Austria

Alexander Knapp has a degree in civil engineering (waste and waste water treatment), and is founder of a spin off company in the area of biological waste treatment. Dr Adhi Setyo Santoso, President University (PRU), Jakarta, Indonesia

Adhi Setyo Santoso is Assistant Professor at President University and the Director of the University’s Incubator SetSail BizAccell. Adhi researches and teaches in Strategic Management, Open Innovation, Strategic Entrepreneurship, Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering. Their most recent publication is ‘Maximizing strategic alliances in the multi-sided platform firms He was Selected as the Nation Most Outstanding Lecturer in 2019. Adhi is also a Steering Group Member of GITA’s associated Erasmus+ funded Capacity Building Project “Building Universities in Leading Disaster Resilience”. Auliya Suwantika, Universitas Padjadjaran (UPB), Bandung, Indonesia

Dr. Auliya Abdurrohim Suwantika is a lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Padjajaran. He is experienced in business start-ups and business management. He obtained his PhD degree in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands in June 2014. He has showed how non-traditional vaccinations can be implemented in countries with limited immunization budget, such as Indonesia, with several promising options, inclusive potential favorable cost-effectiveness. Devanto S Pratomo, Universitas Brawijaja (BRU), Malang, Indonesia

Devanto Shasta Pratomo, PhD, is Head of Student Admission of International Office and Head of International Program in Faculty of Economics and Business, at Universitas Brawijaja. He holds a PhD’s degree in Economics from Lancaster University, UK, a Master’s degree in Economics from Georgia State University, US and Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. In the past he was also a Visiting Scholar at Indonesia Project, ANU and postdoctoral fellow at Global Asia Institute of NUS. His research focuses on labour economics, education and migration. Dorojatun Prihandono, SE, MM, PhD Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNS), Semarang, Indonesia

Dorojatun Prihandono is a civil servant lecturer at Semarang State University. He joined Semarang State University as a PNS Lecturer in 2005 and is now the Head of Department for Management in the Faculty of Economics. His teaching and research interests include consumer behaviour, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. Dorojatun Prihandono can be contacted on dprihandono@mail.unnes.ac.id.

Dwi Nita Aryani, STIE Malangkucecwara (STM), Malang, Indonesia

Dr. Dwi Nita Aryani, MM, PhD, is Head of Malangkucecwara International Relationship at STM. Her previous roles include Head of the Management Department; member of the supervisory board of a local bank and coops; coach of student entrepreneurship programme; and National Student Creativity Competition (2012 and 2011).  She teaches on banking courses and business ethics. Ida Puspita, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Ida Puspita, M.A., Res is the Head of the Office for International Affairs at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. She has extensive expertise in developing and managing a large network of international collaborations. Her areas of activity include funded projects, credit transfer, student mobility, joint curriculum development and innovative teaching pedagogies, and she has delivered several workshops and keynote speeches in these areas. Ida is also a Steering Group Member of GITA’s associated Erasmus+ funded Capacity Building Project “Building Universities in Leading Disaster Resilience”. Ir. Wiryono Raharjo, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Dr Wiryono Raharjo is the Vice Rector for Partnerships and Entrepreneurship at Universitas Islam Indonesia and has extensive expertise in developing and managing a large and diverse network of international academic collaborations. He is an accomplished architect and academic in architecture, where his specific expertise is Participatory Design, including community-based architectural design. Wiryono is also a Steering Group Member of GITA’s associated Erasmus+ funded Capacity Building Project “Building Universities in Leading Disaster Resilience”.
